Phoenix

We have decided with very short notice to fly off to Phoenix for the
weekend. Well an extended weekend, till Tuesday May 13th. With the absolute disappointment of Matt who once again stays at home with Copper and Zipper. Our poor cinderfeller. One day, in about 6 weeks you will have no more homework and will wish for an assignment.

So the decision to go to Phoenix is pure curiosity about the real estate market and a very generous offer of a place to stay. Mona and Peter invited us last fall when they were packing up to head South for the winter. It seems our little Sylvan Lake community is a nice little package of rest, relaxation and social times. That was a good choice too!

We will try and squeeze in a golf game or two. Now time to surf the real estate websites and pick a few winners to look at.

It's all good.

1. I love to research destinations and find obscure accommodation.

2. Games are not my cup of tea! That includes card games, board games and mind games, although I am apparently really good at the later.

3. I am very logical, I can put together anything from IKEA! I am however not allowed as there are three perfectly capable men in this house that are, allowed.

4. I never get hungry but I have cravings.

5. My favorite color is turquoise.

6. I can use a remote control ( when I am the only one in the house).

7. I prefer to make reservations for dinner.

8. I wish I would have become a marine biologist as opposed to a porcelain throne polisher!

So there you have it! Not so exciting, not very lengthy, short and to the point.
Now for the pathetic part! I don't know anyone that I can tag, even Allan has been tagged.

Good grief it must be cold out. I haven't posted since Ted turned 50!
Don't hold your breath for many posts. Things around here have been
a little busy. I will have to think on the 8 things about me that someone might
not know......that we can publish anyways.

The real winner!

Well this photo is for Lenore and Colleen in San Carlos! This was our waiter in Cozumel!!! CHA CHA CHA! I think I pick this waiter to win! Beware, I have figured out how to post pictures so they will be endless now. It may only be Wednesday for some but it is my Friday so I sit here with my Smirnoff Ice....slowly weaning our selves off the alcohol. I have tomorrow to post more about Cozumel so cheers everyone and here's to Friday!

Home sweet home!

Cozumel was lots of good fun and plenty to do for a week. Some of the highlights were diving to die for, "Mayor of the hot tub", lots of new friends and many new drinks.

This was our first time at an all-inclusive. We booked into the Allegro Cozumel on the south end of the island. The rooms were clean if a little musty (hard to get away from that in the tropical climate) each of the complexes had 8 rooms each, so 4 on top and 4 on the bottom. We were on top and the thatched roof left little to the imagination. Every peep inside or outside of the room was heard............... Including the Mexican roosters - looked more like crows to me - and they have a very high pitched ....song? The resort is recovering from the hurricanes but the only noticeable damage is the palm trees, someone said they had all been replaced but I think some are still original. The beach was absolutely beautiful, lots of palapas and lounge chairs to stay in the shade, the snorkeling from the hotel had only minimal fish life and the occasional jellyfish. They had the usual activities like volleyball on the beach, trivia games around the noisy pool and hot tub, snorkel gear-kayaks-sail boats-windsurfers, self-serve beer on tap etc..

The place we spent a lot of our time was in the huge hot tub that overlooked the beach, sunset was the best. We had a couple of good sunsets but it was a little cloudy, I think all the pasty white Calgary bodies chased away the sun. During one afternoon, in the hot tub of course, Ted joined in on the trivia questions and won the bottle of Tequila! Thus after poking a hole in the top and making several rounds of the hot tub he was dubbed "Mayor of the Hot Tub". Must have been his newly distinguished look! We both had our moments to shine. Mine was after the yard margarita at
Carlos and Charlies. But I am writing this so that's it for the details!

Now I am getting tired writing this so I am sure you are tired of reading, I will add more later. And will figure out how to post pics.

......Well maybe just to Cozumel! When you have that Travel Bug, and I have it often, just ask Ted. It is hard to stay put, especially when everyone you are related to is in Mexico or has just recently been there. Ok, specifically D&L and R&R! Hope you are all having a whale of a time!
And as for those of us left in the extreme great white north hello!

I just couldn't take it anymore...snow.....snow....ice.....thaw.....snow....snow.....ice......thaw....sit in traffic take a mere hour and thrity minutes to drive 15km. I gave in to the pressures of Mexico and booked Ted and I to Cozumel. Ted believes it is for his 50th birthday.......actually it is but don't you always give people stuff for their Birthday that you would want for your self?
